\"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey\" might be hitting theaters on December 14, but don\'t think that\'s all there is to see of the first part of Bilbo Baggins\' adventure.
Warner Bros. has announced as part of the studio\'s 90th anniversary line-up that an extended edition of \"An Unexpected Journey\" will hit store shelves during the fourth quarter of 2013. Our guess is that the film will likely come out around the holiday season and will likely be tied in with the release of the second \"The Hobbit\" film, \"The Desolation of Smaug.\"
We have no idea how director Peter Jackson has any extra scenes for this collection. He\'s already stretched \"The Hobbit\" from two to three movies because he had a longer story that he wanted to tell, but we\'re impressed that he has even more deleted scenes that he feels he can add to that. We\'re just clueless as to what they could possibly be.
Hopefully there are as many behind-the-scenes featurettes as the \"Lord of the Rings\" extended editions had, because those are details we love to know. How great would a documentary explaining what happened in the time between when \"The Lord of the Rings\" wrapped and \"The Hobbit\" finally started shooting be? It would give Guillermo del Toro a chance to be more of a part of \"The Hobbit\" universe, as he almost directed the movie(s) himself.
Our other hope is that Warner Bros. designs \"The Hobbit\" extended editions to fit together alongside the ones we have for \"The Lord of the Rings.\" It\'s very likely that these will be released on Blu-ray or in a Blu-ray/DVD set, but we just want them to look and be styled like the boxes we already have sitting on our shelves. That doesn\'t seem like it\'s too much to ask.

yo me comprare las dos versiones la normal y la extendida como hice con la trilogía del señor de los anillos, aunque e oído que al parecer harán otra versión mas extensa dela trilogía del señor de los anillos aunque no lo tengo claro ese rumor
que guay, si hacen una version extendida de la version extendida de la triologia espero que cada peli dure unas 5 o horas y media o asi (eso si seran maratones del señor de los anillos)
por las del hobbit me parece una idea fantastica,y merecera la pena esperar ese año para comprarselas, y despues la vere unas 5 veces seguida como en los viejos tiempos.
Jejeje, que listos son... Seguramente, debido a que si se confirma una versión extendida, las ventas de DVD bajan. Lo mejor (para la productora, quiero decir) es que cada uno tenga en su casa los 2 DVD... Yo me esperare igualmente. Siempre podré comprar el DVD cuando quiera.
En el cuarto trimestre del 2013... bue, dentro de un año .
Con ESDLA era igual siempre salía la versión extendida un poco antes de que se estrenara la continuación en el cine.
Yo voy a esperar a la versión extendida.....si al final no es cierta la noticia cosa que dudo con el dinero que sacaron con las extendidas de ESDLA me compro la normal y seguramente a menor precio.
Por cierto ya esta confirmada más o menos la duración de la primera película que será de 2 horas 44 minutos.....si las tres películas tiene la misma duración esta claro que hay muchas cosas inventadas porque el libro no da para más por trama y contenido (en ESDLA se quedan cortas las 9 horas y por eso faltan tantas cosas guapas de los libro).
Y habrá versión extendida de \"El Hobbit\"...
